LYANTONDE, Uganda: Police in Lyantonde are in pursuit of Dr. Joseph Lusisira, the in-charge of Kabayanda Healthy Center II who disappeared in thin air after committing a felony of attempted murder, the Investigator reports.
Dr. Lusisira, 45, is accused of attempting to kill someone on theft allegations. Police has so far arrested the area L.C I Chairman Tanansi Ssemiro and a one John Mayanja John, for concealing a crime. Police reports have it that Lusisira on Sunday tied up a one Lawrence Ssebuuma, 40, soaked him with five liters of petrol and set him on fire, accusing him of stealing his coffee.
The Officer in-charge Crime Investigations at the station, ASP Kayanja told the investigator that the LC boss was around and witnessed the Doctor committing the offense. He said they had established that after the incident, Lusisira ran to the District Headquarters, asked for a leave which was hurriedly granted before he fled the District to yet unknown place.
Ssebuuma, who is currently admitted at Lyantonde Hospital with severe wounds and purse flowing allover his body, said he was tortured him and tied up with a rope for over four hours before the Doctor later returned with the petrol, soaked him and lit him up. He was saved by well-wishers who, also alerted his mother Leokadia Nakate.
Ssebuuma narrated that the Doctor suspected him of stealing his coffee even when he has never cought him. “He came and picked me from a bar where I was with the friend. I was saved by the residents who knows me as a reasonable person who has never stolen anyone’s belonging,” he cried.
Speaking to the family, Lyantonde RDC Suleiman Tiguragara Matojo reassured them of justice, saying police and security would not tire before Lusisira is apprehended. Nakate called on well-wishers for help saying they have so far spent over Shs400k and have run out of money yet the patient is yet to heal
