MUKONO, Uganda: Mukono High Court has slapped a 30 year sentence to a man over a cocktail of charges containing rape, murder and robbery, the Investigator reports.

Ali Nsubuga, 27, a resident of Kilinnya zone in Kira Municipality has been sent to prison on his own plea of guilt for murdering Aidah Nakiguli, 22, a hitherto ruling Party NRM flag bearer for Butebe Parish. He committed the callous crime on 23rd March 2012.

Prosecution led by Jannat Kitimbo told court that Nsubuga used the deceased’s phone just after an hour from her death to call one Alex Muwanga, whom he wanted to sale the deceased property, giving police a clue. They tracked and arrested him on the same suspicion.

Court heard that Nsubuga first chloroformed Aidah, raped her and beheaded her. He stubbed her in the ribs, slaughtered her and cut off her breasts that he fled with, abandoning the lifeless body in the house before he left with some of her properties

Passing the judgment last night, Mukono resident Judge Margate Mutonyi also ordered police to trace Isaac Buyinza, Nsubuga’s accomplice with whom they connived to commit the fatal offence.

Judge Mutonyi said; “Nakiguli was brutally murdered over nothing and her assailants deserve a deterring sentence to keep away from society and also serve as an example to public.” She sentenced him to 30 years’ imprisonment.
