To many of her friends, aquaitances, colleagues, staff and relatives, it is no longer at ease. Our sources have offered that among the said lot above is the outgoing Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, Among`s husband Moses Magogo, two ministers and 24 (twenty four) Members of Parliament. Whereas the latter lot is expected to appear before Detectives at Kibuli tommorow (May 18th 2026), Among is supposedly expected on Tuesday.
The operation named `Maliza Ufisadi`(Swahili for “Finish Corruption), started with summons to Speaker Among, by Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday. After the meeting composed of clergymen, Itesot King Emolimoli, former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, and NRM Vice Chair Moses Kigongo among others, President Museveni condemned and placed Among under house arrest.
It is reported that the old man with a Hat also directed Among to stay put and restrain self from contacting any MPs. However, upon reaching her home in Nakasero, Among defied her Master and started making frantic calls to several MPs, directing them to keep their loyalty to her and not to attend her supposed replacement, Hon. Jacob Markson Oboth-Oboth`s thanks-giving service in Mukono.
At the function, Oboth-Oboth was expected to officially announce his bid for Speakership. However, by afternoon, the turn-up at the host`s residence was still wanting as several MPs were relactantly dragging their feet to show up. A quick check with intelligence gathered how Among and her helpers were behind the glitch at Mukono. Getting to the reason why this stance, the angry President directed Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to swing into action.
“The security forces under the direction and instructions of the Commander-in-Chief launched Operation ‘Maliza Ufisadi’ the other day. We shall expand this operation and apprehend all culprits. No one will be spared,” Gen Muhoozi roared via his X account last night, hence partially confirming what we are relaying in these pages.
The Story
By mid-day on Saturday, intelligence had gathered that the MPs` loyalty to Among is connected to money. Known to be one of the biggest Money-Lenders around town, Anita Among is rumored to have advanced to over 200 MPs, soft loans of between 100M to 200M, depending on one`s need. When the big man asked how she expected to recover the monies, he was told how the Speaker targeted the UGX315M meant for the MPs vehicles, to recover the loaned dime.
The above revelation left the President with no option apart from expedite his plans to launch the operation, starting from the top. Indeed, on Friday, the Clerk to Parliament, Hon. Adolf Mwesigye is rumored to have been the first to record a statement. Starting with Adolf is a story by itself, but for another day. Yesterday, sources have it, more technical staff were supposedly interrogated. These reportedly include Chris Obore, and Richard Kunobwa the Head Finance.
The above include cops who were hithert deployed at Parliament but were reportedly lured by Among into early resignation before she supposedly assigned them to private business with her person. Notably among the 24 MP is the four commissioner including Mathias Mpuuga, Ministers Peter Ogwang and Henry Musaasizi, Hon. Kateshumbwa, Prossy Mbabazi, Afwoyo Chan, Didan Muwanguzi, and Najjuma Sarah.
The Auditor General Conduits
Intelligence has it that Among was also using the Office of The Auditor General to her personal benefit. Known to be good in tapping into ministries and government agencies, Among reportedly head-hunded the current Auditor General Edward Akol, from within Parliament corridors. This stance, away from him being from her home of Bukedea. Appointed and sworn in in July 2024, succeeding John F. S. Muwanga, Edward Akol is reported to have been working for both Government and the person of Among. To help him experdite his duties, two of his Directors Martin Bamulumbye and Joseph Hirya are supposedly handy.
Who is Martin Bamulumbye
A resident of Bunga, a holder of a Bachelors of Commerce degree in Accounting from Makerere University and a Certified Public Accountant of over 17 years with membership of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, Bamulumbye also holds a Masters of Business Administration.
He Joined the Office of the Auditor General in 1994 as an Auditor and rose through the ranks to the current position of Director Central Government 1, the same government that audits the office of the President, office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Agriculture, Office of the Director of Public prosecutions, Ministry of Defence, Uganda Police, State House and all classified expenditures.
Bamulumbye has audited the above named institutions for the last 20 years as the Director. He has has been, reportedly successful in overriding staff rules that require rotation of staff every three years because of the power he wields in the office of the Auditor General. “He [reportedly] dictates what happens in the office that should be the custodian of public trust,” offers the source.
Word has it that because he had always had the Speakers ear, he would hol the Bukedea-born Auditor General Akol by the waist. This is commonly known as “okukwaata jeeke” in Luganda. Like in the case of Ex Speaker Among, Bamulumbye is said to weild super powers before Uganda Police, Public Prosecutions, the Judiciary and Uganda prisons. This stance, because he has closely worked with them for the last twenty plus years, and is allegedlly on their monthly retainer.
Of Joseph Hirya
Joseph Hirya is a prominent audit professional, serving as the Director of Audit (Central Government II) at the Office of the Auditor General. He frequently represents the Auditor General in official government, petroleum sector, and international audit engagements. Hirya is as well responsible for directing major government audits, representing the Auditor General in national policy matters, and overseeing institutional capacity-building initiatives. ]]>Even with the bulging number of examples of the hitherto powerfuls who were humiliated before being dumped, Among couldn’t stop for a minute, just to imagine or suggest herself in their position. Names like Samson Babi Mululu Kisekka, Amama Mbabazi, Baalibaseka Bukenya, Gen. Kale Kayihura or at worst, Nobel Mayombo and or, Gen Nyakayirima, at no time made any sense to Among!
An old Luganda adage goes thus; Olunatta Wambwa lumuziba ennyindo. This loosely mean that a desease targetting to kill a Dog attacks its nose first. That way, the poor dog can easily eat anything poisonous since it lost the sense of smell. To the knowledgeable, Speaker Among had long lost her sense of smell. She did all it takes to drag her close to any tribe of danger and, kaboom. The Rolls Royce triggered everything back, sending her into house arrest in just a brink.
Sadly, as she goes off the stage, her hitherto vibrant helpers, acquitances, potential accomplices, and or, condiuts within Parliament, Government agencies and ministries remain not at ease. While the public continues to decry the theft of taxpayers` money in the August House, the real focus is now directed to the Auditor General`s Office, the Clerk to Parliament Adolf Kasaija Mwesigye and Head of Finance at Parliament, Patrick Kunobwa among others.
Whereas the others are obvious, starters will wonder how the Auditor General relates with Parliament affairs. And here, we shall give prominence to AG`s connection, in this first of the `No Longer at Ease` series in these pages. For starters, the Auditor General`s Office was established under Article 163 of the Constitution and is the supreme audit authority.
The Auditor General`s primary role is to audit and report to Parliament, on the public accounts of Uganda, ensuring transparency, fiscal discipline, and value for money in the management of public funds. Under Rt. Hon. Anita Among`s reign, the AG has been supposedly reduced to be working for the Speaker`s person and not the public as required.
Who is Who at The AG`s Office
With so much reported graft within the August House itself, one would wonder who is in charge of audit at Parliament! There are many more institutions that such graft is happening in an unchecked manner. And were told that these are audited by two directors at the AG`s Office, who have wielded so much power to the extent that they supposedly have overpowered the Auditor General himself, Edward Akol, making him a ceremonial official!
The above mentioned sectors include among others, Water, Education, Security, Agricultural, JLOS and Public Administration sector. These are under the two powerful directors Martin Bamulumbye and Joseph Hirya. Inernal information reaching our desk has it that one of them, Bamulumbye, is under the CDF`s team watch over corruption.
Strong allegations have it that Bamulumbye covers up payment for services in those sectors, costing tens of billions that are never delivered. “He has made the heads of these institutions as `strategic allies`”. Our source offered. On the other hand, his colleague, Hirya is supposedly no different. “They run the office of the auditor general like a cartel where they are in charge of institutions that have the biggest budgets in the country,” says the authoritative source.
The same is witnessed in the audits at the ministry of Water and Environment, Office of the Prime Minister, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Agriculture and at the National Planning Authority. Whereas the Bukedea born AG Edward Akol was reportedly head-picked and recommended by the outgoing Speaker Anita Among, his two Directors are reported to have been closely working with the Speaker.
As investigatigations in Anita Among`s illicit wealth case takes form, the three officers at the AGs office are reportedly targetted along with other officials at the Parliament. The latter include the Clerk to Parliament Adolf Kasaija Mwesigye, the Head of Finance Patrick Kunobwa and the already arrested Chris Obore among others. Sources have it that Amongs raid was sparked by her attempts last night, to block MPs from attending the incoming Speaker, Jacob Oboth-Oboth`s thanksgiving in Mukono.
In the above efforts, she was being helped by the already netted Chris Obore and Justin Nameere. Before taking this edition to bed, Police and SFC had already raided the already House Arrested Speaker`s home in Nakasero. Whereas Police`s Crime Investigations Directorate (CID) detectives initially took the shot at the home search, SFC took over the command to recover hard cash, files and her travel documents. By the time we uploaded this article, plans were underway to have some of the posh cars towed to the police. Watch this space…
]]>KAMPALA, Uganda: Dark clouds, thick with suspicion, deceit, and death have rolled over the once flamboyant, self-styled tycoon Bryan White, born Brian Kirumira. The man, who strutted Kampala’s nightlife as a “philanthropic socialite” now stands at the center of a chilling mystery that has jolted the city’s elite and shaken the very foundations of his glittering empire.
Under the canopy of his palatial residence along Salama Road, Makindye, the illusion of wealth, fame, and security connections came tumbling down this week, with the suspicious death of Caroline Nalubwama, a young woman reportedly close to the fallen socialite.
According to preliminary reports, Bryan White and Caroline were involved in what police initially termed a “gas cylinder incident.” Caroline was rushed to Kiruddu Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. And Bryn White? He was said to have been whisked away to Mildmay Hospital along Entebbe Road, reportedly with burn injuries. But the story didn’t end there. It only darkened.
When local authorities attempted to access the residence, they were met with armed resistance from military police guarding the compound. It took hours, and a social media uproar after images of the standoff leaked online, before police gained entry into the heavily fortified mansion. ASP Luke Oweyesigire, Deputy PRO for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that detectives led by the Division CID Officer combed through the scene.
“The scene was documented, and relevant exhibits were recovered to aid in the ongoing investigations,” Oweyesigire said. The deceased’s body was conveyed to the City Mortuary, Mulago, for post-mortem examination. Police say Bryan White has recorded a statement and is cooperating, though under close observation. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as investigators trace the chain of events that ended in Nalubwama’s mysterious death. Yet, what detectives reportedly discovered inside the mansion has stirred even darker whispers.
A senior detective, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the interior of Bryan White’s home as “disturbingly spiritual,” with effigies and objects resembling a modernized shrine. The discovery has fueled wild allegations that the once-charming philanthropist had “crossed into a satanic verse”, a claim his close associates and neighbors have hesitantly confirmed.
Uganda has seen its share of overnight millionaires! Mike Ezra, Bad Black, Meddie Sentongo, Ivan Semwanga, Jack Pemba. But none rose and fell quite like Bryan White. Educated at Mityana Central College and Mityana Secondary School, White claimed to have inherited a fortune from his Italian stepfather after his mother’s death in Europe. Lacking the accent but flaunting the euros, he burst onto the scene in 2016 with the Bryan White Foundation, touting himself as a redeemer of Uganda’s jobless youth.
The foundation’s website painted him as a visionary figure! “We believe all young people deserve dignity, respect, and justice… many have become successful through our programs.” But beneath the façade of empowerment was a murkier reality. A web of influence, money, and power allegedly used to curry favor with top officials, including President Yoweri Museveni and his brother, Gen. Salim Saleh.
From his Munyonyo base, insiders claim Bryan White and his entourage instead engaged in hedonistic orgies under the guise of “youth development meetings,” a rumor he never quite managed to shake off. In 2019, a one Stella Nandawula accused Bryan White of rape, a scandal that briefly turned Parliament’s eyes toward him. Yet, as swiftly as it emerged, the case collapsed when the accuser retracted her statement, allegedly under pressure. Now, with Nalubwama’s death, those ghosts have returned, louder and more dangerous.
As investigations deepen, police sources hint that Bryan White’s “protection” might no longer shield him. “This could be the moment the lid finally blows off,” one officer said. Whether this tragedy exposes the underbelly of Uganda’s celebrity elite, or fades into another unsolved scandal, remains to be seen. For now, the dark clouds over Bryan White’s mansion have only begun to gather. Watch this space…
Suspicious Activity and Sudden Arrests
According to Bibiana, her team arrived at the Katanga residence on November 2nd 2023, following the death via shooting, of businessman Henry Katanga. From the onset, she said, inconsistencies among domestic workers raised red flags. She testified that she arrested `Dr.` Charles Otai and Patricia Kakwanza, the deceased’s daughter, immediately after her senior, Detective ACP Bob Kagarura confronted Otai, asking if he knew he was speaking to a police officer.
This confrontation followed overheard conversations between Otai and Patricia, allegedly agreeing on a false version of events. Bibiana went on to arrest George Amanyire, one of the household staff, after Musede, another worker. Amanyire had been found“mopping blood” at the scene. Another househelper, Nantume, was detained after CCTV footage showed her cleaning downstairs. When questioned, she said she had been called upstairs by Amanyire.
Chef Nuwahereza was also arrested after claiming he had no idea there was a body in the house and had remained in the kitchen. However, CCTV footage revealed that he and Amanyire had changed clothes during the crucial morning hours from around 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m, when the household’s routine abruptly shifted and the cameras temporarily went off.
When the footage resumed, several people appeared in different clothes. This, Bibiana said, reinforced suspicions of a deliberate attempt to conceal evidence and mislead investigators “From what we saw, there was clearly a coordinated effort to change the scene,” she testified, adding that “it was not natural.”
Enters The Curious Case of A-PLUS Funeral Services
Adding to the suspicion, Bibiana said that on the same morning, A-PLUS Funeral Services arrived to collect Katanga’s body, even though police had not made the call. Typically, she noted, funeral service companies collect remains from police mortuaries, not private homes.
Her intelligence team later informed her that A-PLUS had been called by a man identifying himself as Dr. Otai, who claimed the body should be taken to Bombo Military Hospital and recorded as an accident case. A-PLUS confirmed that the authorization contact came from a woman’s number later linked to Patricia Kakwanza.

Bibiana told court how she wrote to A-PLUS, seeking verification. The company responded in a stamped letter dated November 18, 2023, confirming that calls had been made on November 2 at 9:00 a.m, notably, before any police officer had reached the scene. The body, however, was eventually redirected to the KCCA mortuary for a formal post-mortem after police intervention.
Access Denied at IHK
The next day, November 3, 2023, Akongo’s team proceeded to the International Hospital Kampala (IHK) to interview Accused Number One (A1), Molly Katanga, the widow and primary suspect. But upon arrival, they found Special Forces Command (SFC) soldiers guarding the ward. “They told us they had orders from a man named Geoffrey Kamuntu, who claimed to be Molly’s brother and next of kin,” Bibiana recounted.
When Bibiana finally accessed the ICU area, she found Molly sitting upright on a bed, texting on her phone, with no life support machines around her. Yet, the hospital staff had insisted she was in the Intensive Care Unit. Smelling a foul play and fearing an escape, police deployed counter-officers around the hospital.
Their concerns deepened after intelligence suggested plans were underway to smuggle Molly out of the country through Kenya. Indeed, Molly had unsuccessfully asked the President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, to allow her go get specialized treatment from Kenya. Bibiana said her team discovered a long ladder, positioned at Molly’s hospital window at night, which IHK claimed, was part of renovations.
When Molly was later scheduled for a surgery allegedly lasting three hours, she remained in theatre for over twelve hours. When police attempted to monitor her, Kamuntu allegedly grabbed an officer, preventing access, resulting in a scuffle and his arrest for obstruction of justice.
Police management later briefed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who wrote to the Ministry of Health, requesting a team of independent specialists to examine Molly. Two months later, in January 2024, doctors concluded she was medically capable of giving a statement, which she eventually did, with her lawyers present.
Scene Reconstruction and Missing CCTV Footage
Bibiana’s testimony also revealed major inconsistencies with the home’s CCTV footage. While cameras captured regular activity on November 1, 2023, including both Henry and Molly returning home that evening, the recording for November 2nd was partially missing.
Notably, the footage that should have shown Molly leaving home and the daughters, Patricia Kakwanza and Marthar Nkwanzi returning, was absent. Electrical checks confirmed there was no power outage or load-shedding that morning, a finding verified by Umeme, the power distributor.
Police obtained a court order to access the property’s electricity data, but when Umeme and police technicians arrived, armed soldiers allegedly blocked them, tearing up the court order and barring entry. “We found the army deployed at the deceased’s home,” Akongo said. “They refused us access to the meter and destroyed the court order.”
A Scene Already Changed
During her testimony, Bibiana described the Katanga home as a “tampered” crime scene. She said the gun had been moved from the master bedroom to another room by Patricia, while Amanyire had collected a live bullet and placed it on the bed. She also noted that `Dr.` Charles Otai arrived at the scene carrying an unidentified bag, having already met with Molly before police arrived. “This was not the original scene,” she emphasized, adding that the “evidence had been moved, cleaned, and altered before we got there.”
Right-Handed Shooter?
In her final remarks, Bibiana said forensic checks showed the deceased’s firearm was legally owned and regularly renewed, with no record of misuse. Training records from the Police Training School in Kibuli confirmed Katanga was right-handed, an important detail as investigators try to establish whether the gunshot wound could have been self-inflicted.
Reading The Unwritten
Bibiana’s meticulous testimony, stretching over two full court days, left defense lawyers visibly unsettled as she recounted, document by document, the sequence of arrests, intercepted plans, and recovered inconsistencies that form the backbone of the state’s case. The trial continues, with cross-examination of the lead investigator expected to test the credibility of her evidence, and possibly unravel what truly happened inside the Katanga home on that fateful morning of November 2, 2023.
]]>The kibanja was still a subject of litigation in a case pending before Justice Susan Kanyange (SK) and lodged by Rose Nabusoba Namakula, a widow aged 64. That case sought to block auction of a subject kibanja based on loans NCBA purportedly granted to the third parties without Nabusoba’s knowledge, consent and approval.
As she still waited for her earlier case’s hearing and resolution before Judge Susan Kanyange, a supposed impostor, Margaret Namayanja, went behind her back, lodging another case before Justice Batala, based on the same facts as the ones earlier lodged by the widow, accusing NCBA exactly of what the widow was also doing.
Namayanja and NCBA quickly compromised their case and Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala quickly acceded to the auction of a kibanja which was still a subject of litigation in Namusoba’s case before Batala’s colleague, Susan Kanyange. Thereafter, NCBA based on Batala’s verdict and quickly disposed of a kibanja still under contestation, removing away from the case pending before Justice Kannyange, a critical bone of contention which was still pending a resolution.
From the proceeds, Namayanja shared a cool UGX100m, the bank took UGX400m and the lawyers involved in the case smiled to the bank with a cool UGX50m. Not a bad harvest really from a case that had been compromised in a matter of days. To the widow’s shock and dismay, Gen Museveni seemingly ignored her petition, elevating Batala to a substantive judge, despite having given away her supposed kibanja.
And just recently, the Fountain of Honor appointed Batala an Inspectorate of Government, dashing the widow’s hopes to secure any justice from anywhere in the country. Consequently, a landless and deeply traumatized Namusoba, has finally decided to retreat to her ancestral village in Busoga and die.
“My friend, the poor woman went back to Busoga to die,” an audibly dejected lawyer, who privately and commendably prosecuted a widow’s case, stated when reached for a comment and quickly hung up. Prior to giving up, a law abiding citizen, Namusoba duly took her greviences to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) mandated to reprimand the suspectedly errant judges.
But the JSC led by Justice Dr Douglas Isingiza, for a period spanning over six months, neglected to attend to the widow’s petition, potentially resolving her dispute. Additionally, JSC did not presumably provide professional advice to the President, to potentially halting Batala’s first confirmation and second appointment as an IGG.
JSC’s inaction, rendered pointless, the widow’s petition, demanding for justice, leaving at-large a judge suspected of professional misconduct, that culminated into conversion of a widow’s purported kibanja, prompting an aggrieved, sad betrayed and landless elderly petitioner to return to her village out of frustration, waiting for her death.
JSC’s inaction reflects bias and favoritism with which the group handle a certain category of their own judicial officers suspected of professional misconduct. Secondly, the inaction highlights JSC’s lack of care and doesn’t bode well for the critical need to render accountability by the suspectedly errant judicial officers dragged to JSC for administrative reprimand.
Furthermore, the inaction negates the duty placed on JSC to promote professional and ethical standards among members of the bench. Additionally, the inaction makes a mockery of the cardinal duty of JSC to promote and foster the rule of law.
Most of all, the inaction of JSC scandalizes a country’s leader, Gen Museveni, having appointed a judge still faced with issues of integrity and professionalism, especially because the responsible professional body neglected to resolve the judge’s issues, let alone to advise the appointing authority to halt his actions pending resolution of the issues a widow accused a judge of.
Finally, though it can be assumed that JSC covered up their own, but records probably never go stale, and they will inform posterity that a judge one time in the past had issues and a JSC led by Justice Dr Douglas Isingiza denied both a petitioner and a judge an audience and therefore deprived them both, of justice.
]]>Moments later, she received another call from another junior, Detective IP Emmanuel Ogwang, already stationed at the scene, urging her to join in immediately. When Akongo arrived at around 10 a.m., she found Ogwang with a few officers and three individuals namely; Patricia Kakwanza, George Amanyire, and Charles Otai. Ogwang, after a preliminary look, whispered the unthinkable! “This is no suicide. It’s homicide.” Patricia, however, pressed him to report the incident as an accident. He refused.
The First Encounters
At the trial before Lady Justice Rosette Comfort Kania, Detective Akongo is the latest witness and, in these lines is a story of how she narrated the same to court. Back at the scene, Akongo introduced herself with authority, approached Patricia for guidance to the crime scene. Patricia referred her to Amanyire, who in turn pointed her toward Otai, a nurse at Bugoloobi Medical Center who, eventually directed her to the bedroom.
When questioned, Charles Otai gave his version, saying Henry Katanga had shot himself. He further claimed that Henry’s wife, Molly Katanga was away at State House for work. Otai continued to report that upon hearing the news of her husband`s supposed sucide, Mollyreportedly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
Inside the Master Bedroom
The bedroom door was locked, key inserted from the outside. At Akongo’s instruction, Otai opened it. Inside, she found a small mattress near the door, with a human body shrouded in a bedcover. She observed the deceased, Henry Katanga`s hands were bound to his torso, legs tied, and head secured. The main bed, was soaked with blood and a pistol that was carelessly placed at the bed’s edge.
Looking at the scene, Akongo developed suspicions that led to more questions. When she asked Otai to explain more, his story shifted. He now claimed that he found Katanga already dead with Patricia and Martha Nkwanza in the room. When he asked where the pistol was, Patricia allegedly told him she had hidden it in another room. On his insistence, she returned it to the bedroom!
For Akongo, the evidence was stark; On the floor was an intact live bullet. “An automatic pistol cannot eject a live bullet unless deliberately chambered, suggesting tampering,” she testified. Again, the bullet that struck Katanga was never recovered, though deformed fragments should have existed if it hit a hard surface. “This was no suicide—it was homicide.”
Calling Reinforcements
Akongo approached her supervisor, SSP Bob Kagarura and a one Mr. Okurut, briefing them and requesting for a backup. She also escalated to the chain of command at SOCO. Meanwhile, she secured a key witness, a one Nantume, the family cleaner. Nantume revealed she had been summoned the previous day by Molly Katanga, who asked her to return on the very morning of the murder to help with cleaning.
When backup arrived, Kagarura, Okurut, and Mbabazi deepened the investigation. As Bibiana led them around the scene, Kagarura revealed a shocking twist! He had personally overheard Otai and Patricia conspiring to align their stories. Confronted, Otai faltered, now offering a third version.
In his revised account, Otai claimed he was at Bugolobi Medical Centre, and received Patricia, who had rushed her mother there after an alleged accident. He referred them to IHK. While at IHK, Patricia supposedly received a call from Martha, saying their “father wasn’t fine.” Otai then proceeded to Katanga’s home, where George Amanyire led him to the bedroom. There, he found Henry dead and was told it was suicide. But again, Bibiana was unconvinced.
She elected to follow the hospital trail, tracing the events back to Bugolobi Medical Centre and at IHK. At Bugolobi, she was handed a referral letter, citing a “road traffic accident.” At IHK, authorities produced an emergency assessment form, again, listing a “car crash injury.” Obviously, both accounts conflicted with those of Patricia and Otai’s shifting versions.
Bibiana further testfied that on that day, 2nd November 2023, herself, with Kagarura, Okurut, Mbabazi, and a SOCO from Kabalagala, attempted to access Molly at IHK, but a one Dr. Kavuma blocked them. However, SOCO Birungi gained entry and collected crucial evidence including swabs from Molly, bedsheets from both IHK and Bugolobi, and one dress. Curiously, Bugolobi bedsheet bore no blood, hence raising questions about staged evidence.
The Conclusion
With the tangled web of lies, disappearing bullets, and inconsistent medical records, Detective SP Bibiana Akongo presented her findings in Court. Her testimony was clear – Henry Katanga did not commit suicide. The evidence pointed unmistakably to homicide, concealed by a network of conspirators weaving conflicting stories. Her Testmony continues…
]]>But Mayinja’s commentary prudently avoided declaring a nation’s judicial system as being a Temple of Injustice. Now, in an interesting development, the Uganda judiciary stand accused of infamously denying an audience to a victim of landing grabbing.
This view, after the judiciary directed a victim to deposit in court thirty million shillings . This stance, as s condition to meet first before entertaining his griviences. Supposing it’s true, a nation’s judiciary favored a criminal and betrayed a victim of a crime. Interestingly, the victim of a crime is nation Uganda’s law enforcement officer.
Known as Richard Gitta, the nation’s law enforcement officer has for the last two decades diligently served under the Uganda Police. Imagine! A kibanja belonging to a law enforcement officer was reportedly grabbed and he cannot use the law he enforces and rescues the same.
Problematically, government pays the nation’s policeman a monthly salary barely enough to sustain him, let alone his family members. Therefore, a law enforcement officer cannot raise funds set by courts, and therefore retreated from the so-called Temple of Justice.
As he coils, Gitta is seriously perturbed and hurts as he rues missing out on a kibanja whose worth exceeds six hundred million shillings. His late father, Mzee Godfrey Sekagya, bestowed on him the kibanja in issue. Consequently, grabbing Gitta’s inheritance, turns him into a modern day biblical Esau.
His father died without reclaiming the kibanja whose grandfather had compassionately lent to a one Hassan Kasozi (HK), to strictly use to grow food for his and his family’s consumption. Measuring half an acre, the property is located in Wakimese zone, Kyengera Town Council, at least eight miles along Kampala-Masaka Highway.
When Gitta claimed the kibanja in question, HK told him that his late grandfather sold it to him. But the area Wakimese Local Council rejected HK’s assertions, and authored a report dated November 17th 2017, upholding Gitta’s ownership of the property under contestation. A Uganda Police Land Protection Unit under Charles Mutungi authored a second report in October 2021, cementing Gitta’s proprietorship.
The President’s Office based on the above-mentioned police report, underlining Gitta’s proprietorship. The President’s Office’s position dated December 10th 2021 was authored by a presidential aide known as Ssaalongo Hudson Senkaayi. A Mpigi magistrate, Robert Imalingat handled the case filed by HK, ruling in his favor.
Notably, His Worship Imalingat relied on an agreement attributed to Gitta’s late grandfather. The document bore no any witness from the late Alikadi Sekagya’s family to whom it was attributed by HK and Imalingat. The single witness who appeared on the document was HK’s relative.
Finally, not a single member from Wakimese Local Council witnessed the document, let alone stamped it. But His Worship Imalingat declared it as good as any other lawful agreement, even in the absence of a Handwriting expert’s report. Aggrieved, Gitta filed for a review of Imalingat’s verdict, contending that a mere magistrate lacked jurisdiction to try a land dispute whose worth exceeded five hundred million shillings.
A judge, Anthony Oyuko Ojok swept aside a valuation report duly tabled by Gitta, labeling it an afterthought piece of evidence , skirting a more serious issue of jurisdiction duly raised by Gitta. And Gitta cannot continue to pursue justice in courts because he lacks the UGX30M deposit which the so-called Temple of Justice wants paid first before handling his issues. But seriously probing, who will assist a nation’s diligent law enforcer to access justice? Watch this space
]]>Too fictious it felt, and, or even sounded unbeleivable, when on the afternoon of 2nd April 2025, news went viral on social media, supposing that Jolin Kanoheri aka Mutesi, a 40yr old resident of Mutungo Hill, and wife to Chris Rugari, a Uganda`s consul to Zimbabwe, had instantly stamped a permanent fullstop onto her two-and-a-half-year old son, Nganwa Rugari`s tender life! Too cruel to be real, but sadly, it’s a registered case before police and court!
In these lines lies our first story titled; Filicide Most Ugly: From Lovebirds to Murder Dockets, to the Slope into Darkness, to The Sex Scandals and Smart Wire Tales, The Investigator Rises To Work. As earlier suggested, this aint a story one would fonder writing about repeatedly… But here we are, simply to put back on track, what the suspects` agents and apologists, direly intend to divert the public from – the truth.
How It Unfolded
For starters, stories are rife how, Kanoheri, on April 1st 2025 at 11Pm, reportedly rushed her now demised son, to a Kitintale-premised medical facility. Here, she reported how the kid had supposedly skidded through the window at the second floor of their house. She argued the doctors to do admit the boy and apply treatment. The doctor on duty examined the child and tentatively prescribed painkillers, as well as recommending a CT scan, due to the reported fall.
Upon completion of the examination, the hospital determined the child was well, had not fallen whatsoever, and turned down Kanoheri`s suggestion to have them admitted. They however advised the mother to instead give the lad some food before giving her the prescribed painkillers. They further released the boy but reserved their observations and concerns about her choice to lie about her own child.
“We were very disturbed, shocked and confused why she had cooked up a `fall` story about her own child! Her intentions and motive were illusion to us… but we got the answer the following day!” a credible source from the hospital management confided. Indeed, on April 2nd 2025 at 5am, she again called the hospital, telling them how her son was badly off and that she was on her way to deliver him. On arrival, the lad was declared dead!
Here, Joline blamed the Doctors and the hospital at large, for her child`s demise. Reason? They had `refused` to admit him the previous evening! Little did she know that the hospital had already questioned her intentions and, upon declaring the baby dead, they legally contacted police to take up the matter. A few minutes after, she called the family lawyer, announced the baby`s death and the lawyer passed on the sad news to the father and eventually, other family members.
Police Action
On reaching the hospital, the father, Chris Rugari and family members concurred with Joline, who was already demanding for the release of the body, to have the same passed on to the funeral service managers, for the next course – funeral arrangements and eventual burial. As the hospital management dillydallied, police arrived. After a brief closed-door encounter with the management, police announced to the family how their purpose was to question Joline about how the child met his death.
“Get serious guys. You mean my wife killed our son? This is a wastage of our time really,” the innocent Chris reportedly charged at the detectives. But they actually meant business. It is here that Joline was arrested first, taken back home to reconstruct for police, how the boy supposedly fell from the window at the second floor. Here, police realized her story, and that of their maid, Robina Nabbanja, 24, weren’t adding up.
However, police opened an enquiry before forwarding the body to Mulago Hospital for the postmortem and further management. Back to the investigations, Nabbanja had reportedly thundered thus; “Temunyingiza mu bintu byammwe,” loosely meaning, “Don’t involve me in your stuff.” This statement meant volumes to the police – something wrong had happened and the maid wanted out of it.
The Investigations
By committing the offense, according to the continuing revelations, Joline must have thought all was going to stop at her story. Never to involve police investigations and or, extend to a postmortem performance. “Yafudde mafumira” is the Luganda word normally used in her ancient homeplace of Ngoma, especially in cases of fatal accidents whose victims sustain no external injuries. It loosely means someone died of “internal bleeding!”
Upon the release of the autopsy, it was revealed that the young boy died following instant deprivation of oxygen. This implied someone denied him of breath, by suffocating him. Immediately, Joline and her family members contacted a popular army general, complaining that Rugari`s rich family had influenced the autopsy results! The General in return reached out to Uganda Police chief pathologist SCP Dr. Byaruhanga, and relayed the same protest!
Sensing a new twist taking shape, the no-nonsense pathologist recalled the body which had already been released to the family for burial arrangements. He then invited three more senior collogues, including a visiting Kenyan Doctor, to redo the postmortem. Again, all the four pathologists` results concurred with the previous one. The cause of little Rugari`s death was none but instant deprivation of oxygen!
The above now confirmed Joline and her family`s fear of a case registered unto her name. The same also gave credence to the hospital management, and police detectives` instincts, suggesting a filicide having been committed by Joline. Why she lied about her starved child`s health and eventual death became the center of investigation, firstly, in search of the motive.
And hence, the layers began to peel back, revealing a scandal-filled marriage, secret lovers, aka smart wires, betrayal, and an emotional war that had been simmering for years. This stance, as reported in our part one of these series. That Joline had denied food to her son before cynically seeking the `medical attention` for the alleged `fall` at home, plus denying him oxygen and hence, instantly killing him, became an ingredient in the supposed circumstantial evidence being sought against her.
Furthermore, detectives unraveled that two of little Rugari`s siblings, the second and third borns, and the same whom DNA had denied the Rugari paternity, had been whisked away on the night before their half-brother’s demise! To this end, police are yet to establish their whereabouts. The whisking away of these lads provoke vivid memories of Katanga murder case under trial, where a seven-year-old was taken out of the home before his father`s brutal demise!
Again, in Juvenal Nsenga case, where his wife Jackline Uwera Nsenga, 36, was convicted of his murder and handed a 20-year prison sentence, all the children and house-helps had the previous day, been taken away from home. Given the already determined facts above, the removal of the children from home, by Joline on the fateful day, therefore, contributes largely to the ingredients of the circumstantial evidence being compiled against her.
Furthermore, having sensed she had indeed had a case to her name, Joline gave to police, a false identity of her person, calling her self Joline Mutesi. The name Mutesi, it was established, had never been hers, not even at one moment being her petty name. Police hence summoned for her passport which gave them the right name of Kanoheri Joline as being her only name. This gave weight to reports that she had plans to change her identity and switch countries at any given chance of a slight freedom!
Again, at home during the vigil and funeral service at home in Mutungo, detectives observed Joline`s actions with great suspicion. As everyone was busy with funeral arrangements, she called her mechanics and spent most of her time monitoring the major services on her car! Again, she called in her hairdressers to work on her beauty needs as family and friends mourned on. Her actions loaded more volumes to suggestions that she had plans to flee the country to a neighboring DR Congo at any grabbed chance immediately before or after burial in Kisoro, Kabaare.
Now What? Well, we understand the no-nonsense CID Boss, Maj. Tom Magambo`s lads are still sweeping for more incriminating evidence against her, and her accessory. Good news, Jolin and Robinah are in prison. The country is still in shock. And at The Investigator, we rose to work, following this case to its bitter end. This stance, because in the middle of all this drama, betrayal, and heartbreak, one person matters most. His name is Rugari Nganwa. A life lost too soon. A child who had no voice. … watch this space.
]]>Kedi, a man whose official title belies his true influence, has turned his public service role into a lucrative private enterprise. As the gatekeeper of mining licenses, he supposedly wields his power not for the public good, but for personal gain, digging holes not just in the earth, but in the taxpayers’ pockets. In a manner capable of sending shockwaves through Uganda’s mineral sector, Kedi stands accused of transforming his public office into a personal goldmine, the Investigator reports.
The allegations against Kedi, levelled by concerned citizens in a lengthy whistleblower` missive to the President and some government security and intelligence agencies, paint a picture of a public servant whose vices extend beyond selfishness, digging deep into taxpayers’ pockets through tax evasion and under-declaration of payable taxes, reportedly favoring himself and his associates.
A Public Office Vs Private Enterprise
Kedi Vincent’s position at DGSM, a department responsible for regulating Uganda’s mineral resources, has provided him with significant power and influence. However, instead of using this power to benefit the public and the government he serves, Kedi has allegedly turned the DGSM into his private business venture.
Reportedly competing directly and indirectly with the private sector for mining licenses notwithstanding, he has been accused of manipulating licensing regulations to benefit his bank account. This stance, by supposedly soliciting bribes and registering companies under the names of relatives and village mates. For starters, Kedi has created a web of corruption that ensures he profits at every turn.
Abuse of Licensing and Regulatory Processes
Kedi’s manipulation of the licensing process has placed private sector investors in a precarious position. Investors report that Kedi only processes applications that offer him financial benefit. He is accused of canceling licenses under false pretenses, such as claiming presidential directives.
Upon successfully using the President`s name to cancel his potential business competitors` licenses, Kedi then, supposedly reassign the same to entities that meet his demands. This abuse of power was starkly highlighted on the night of Friday 21st June 2024 when, he rejected the renewal of a gold mining license for AUC Mining Ltd, designating the area as government-protected.
However, via the usual online process on Saturday 22nd, between 10PM and 1AM, he granted access to other entities, the same area he actually had less than 12hrs before declared as designated as government-protected. This development, after arguably receiving kitu-kidogo (bribes) from his chosen beneficiaries.
Exploitation Of Online Licensing Systems
Despite the introduction of an online licensing system designed to root out corruption and ensure transparency, Kedi has found ways to exploit the same. This gesture, by manipulating the system to gazette areas under the guise of protecting government interests, hence restricting public applications for the same.
Once handshakes are purportedly done successfully, Kedi reportedly degazettes these areas and awards licenses to those who meet his personal interests. This manipulation ensures that only those who financially benefit him gain access to lucrative mining opportunities.
Wealth Accumulation and Lifestyle
Kedi’s wealth accumulation has been significant, raising eyebrows among his colleagues. Reports indicate how he owns two luxurious residences in Entebbe, worth billions, acquired through his doubtable practices. This, not to mention tens of posh investments he has sprinkled both in Kampala, and back home in the East. Any tribe of lifestyle audit is likely to reveal the extent of his wealth, definitely to the shocks of those familiar with his rapid accumulation of assets.
High-Profile Incidents of Corruption
Kedi’s said corrupt activities are not limited to one-off incidents. In April 2023, a lithium-rich area in Mubende, known as Mbale Estate, was designated as government-protected with plans for competitive bidding. However, by June 2024, Kedi had allocated this area to Sino Oriental Mining Company without following the required competitive bidding process. Such actions not only violate regulations but also deprive the government of potential revenue.
A quick internet search, indicates that Lithium is so valuable as it plays a critical role in much of what we do in our daily lives the. The most important use of lithium mineral is in manufacturing rechargeable batteries for mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras and electric vehicles.
Lithium is also used in some non-rechargeable batteries for things like heart pacemakers, toys and clocks. It is an essential part of the technology that powers mobile phones, computers, power tools and battery storage of energy generated from wind and solar power. Not done. Lithium and its compounds have several industrial applications, including heat-resistant glass and ceramics, lithium grease lubricants, flux additives for iron, steel and aluminum production, lithium metal batteries, and lithium-ion batteries.
Kedi is also cited in another case which involves the Federation of Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners, to which he granted a prospecting license. This stance, despite the entity lacking a tax clearance certificate. This blatant disregard for his own regulations underscores Kedi’s focus on personal gain over public duty.
Illegal Mining Operations and Export Schemes
As if the above is not enough abuse of office, Vincent Kedi’s influence extends to illegal mining operations! “In this field which he has actually `overmastered` than any other game, he acts as a godfather to companies mining without proper licenses,” offers an insider source whom we contacted for verification of this story.
For instance, Evergrande Resources Co. Ltd has been mining and exporting gold without the necessary permits, thanks to Kedi’s protection. Last year alone, he facilitated the export of 300 kilograms of Ugandan gold worth USD22.5M, despite the company lacking a gold refining license or an export permit (detailed story on this for another day). These actions not only rob the government of revenue but also enrich the corrupt like Kedi and his associates in plundering Country Uganda!
A Negative Impact on the Mining Sector
“Kedi’s actions have created an environment of corruption and mistrust within Uganda’s mining sector. Investors are wary of engaging with a system where bribery and favoritism dictate licensing decisions. This corruption tarnishes the reputation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development and undermines efforts to attract legitimate investment” observes the missive authors.
As the scandal unfolds, there are growing calls from colleagues and concerned investors, for a thorough investigation into Kedi’s activities. Stakeholders are demanding a comprehensive lifestyle audit to uncover the extent of his wealth accumulation and hold him accountable for his actions. Upon perusual and approval of this story, our legal experts suggest that if taken on, Kedi could suitably face charges of corruption, abuse of office, and tax evasion.
“His actions highlight the profound impact of corruption on public institutions and the economy,” said our legal expert adding; “His supposed exploitation of the licensing office at DGSM for personal gain not only enriches himself but also deprives the Ugandan government of much-needed revenue.” As investigations continue, there is hope that this scandal will lead to stricter oversight and reforms to prevent such abuses in the future, restoring integrity to Uganda’s mining sector.

]]>This follows the most recent arrest and detention of the priest by the police in Katwe, Kampala on August 1, 2022 over a charge of holding an unlawful assembly vide; 1037/22.
It is alleged that Musoke, is sympathizing and collaborating with LGBTQ non-governmental organizations charges that he strongly believes are unfounded allegations being levied by the government to justify his incarceration.
Musoke, was later released on police bond following pressure from human rights activists but ordered to continue reporting to police as investigation into his cases materialized.
It should be noted that the same Musoke, also prior on July 5, 2021, was arrested by the police and military while organizing a youth conference aimed at promoting peaceful assembly and advocating against dictatorship and unfair elections in Uganda, at a church premises .
The errant reverend deacon was subsequently detained, and claims that he was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture.
During this operation, personal property and valuable church assets, including a public address system were confiscated and some destroyed.
Whereas Musoke at the time claimed innocence, insiders who preferred anonymity confirmed that he indeed is actively involved in the political affairs in Uganda and that his advocacy for democratic values, fair elections, and human rights is second to none.

Musoke Broline Masade, 26, was ordained Reverend Deacon at the Fort Portal Roman Catholic Church and is a member of the National Unity Party (NUP) in Uganda a known fact that has led to his continued incarceration and fear for his life.
In the recent past Uganda has seen the political killings of religious leaders like the late Anglican Bishop Janan Luwumu , who was killed by former dictator Gen.Idd Amin Dada in the 70’s
While more recently others like prominent figures in the religious community, such as the late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, have faced the wrath of the government due to their open discontent of the political atmosphere in the country and blunt abuse of human rights by those in the opposition.
Several members of NUP including its General Secretary Lewis Rubongonya, Spokesperson cum legislator Hon. Senyonyi among others , who had come to attend its own prayer celebrations at the party headquarters in Kamokya, including clerics like Bishop William Tomusange of Joy Mission Ministries and Pastor Andrew Muwanguzi, were brutally arrested an incarcerated in the now infamous preventive arrest operation and later released without charge.
It should be noted that the same party has petitioned the Uganda Human Rights Commission in a bid to locate the whereabouts of their supporters who have gone missing for several months.
