There was joy, celebration and thanksgiving on Saturday as Member of Parliament Frank Mwesigye officially exchanged marriage vows with his longtime sweetheart, Natasha, during a colourful church ceremony at the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe.

The magnificent cathedral, one of Uganda’s oldest and most revered Anglican places of worship, was filled with relatives, friends, political leaders, business personalities and members of the public who gathered to witness the couple make their lifelong commitment before God.
The ceremony was officiated by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, who blessed the union and urged the newlyweds to build their marriage on faith, love, honesty and mutual respect.The wedding marked one of the most celebrated social events of the day, with guests praising the couple for choosing to solemnize their relationship in church before proceeding to a lavish reception in Kigo.
“WE MADE IT”
Moments after the ceremony, an overjoyed Hon. Mwesigye shared an emotional message celebrating the milestone.”We made it! At Namirembe Hill, in the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral, and in the presence of Archbishop Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, I proudly said ‘I do’ to the love of my life,” he wrote.
The legislator thanked God for guiding the couple throughout their journey to marriage.”We thank God for His grace and faithfulness in enabling us to fulfill this beautiful promise and begin this new chapter together as husband and wife.” He also extended heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended the wedding.
“Our sincere appreciation goes to the Archbishop, the Church, and everyone who made it to the wedding ceremony on time. Your presence, prayers and support mean so much to us.”After the church service, the newlyweds invited guests to continue the festivities at a reception held in Kigo.
“Now, let the celebrations continue! We look forward to seeing you at 2:00 PM for the reception at Kigo. Thank you all, and God bless you abundantly.”The message quickly attracted hundreds of congratulatory comments across social media platforms as friends and supporters celebrated the couple’s new beginning.
CATHEDRAL FILLED WITH CELEBRATION

From the early hours of the morning, guests dressed in elegant traditional and formal attire streamed into Namirembe Cathedral, creating an atmosphere of excitement.Beautiful floral decorations adorned the sanctuary while hymns and prayers echoed through the historic church as family members looked on with smiles and emotion.
When the couple exchanged vows before Archbishop Kaziimba, the congregation responded with loud applause, marking the official beginning of their life together as husband and wife.
The archbishop reminded the couple that marriage is a sacred covenant requiring sacrifice, forgiveness and unwavering commitment. His message resonated with many guests, who described the ceremony as deeply spiritual and memorable.
BALAAM HAILS HIS FRIEND

Among those who congratulated the newlyweds is Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara, a close friend of Mwesigye.
Balaam described the wedding as an important milestone in the legislator’s life and wished the couple God’s blessings.
“Congratulations, my brother and friend, upon this wonderful milestone. Today you have started a new journey that is built on love, commitment and faith. May God bless your marriage with happiness, peace and many years of togetherness. Wishing you and Natasha a lifetime filled with joy and abundant blessings,” Balaam said.
He added that marriage is one of life’s greatest commitments and expressed confidence that the couple would build a strong and admirable family.

Although he was unable to attend the ceremony because of family circumstances, Stanley Ndaula, Chief Executive Officer of Yaya Extra, also sent a heartfelt congratulatory message.
“Congratulations to you my good friend. We wish you both a lifetime of love, joy and blessings. Marriage is a blessing from God. Just like the saying, ‘He who finds a wife has found a good thing.’ I have not been able to attend due to the sickness of my dad but as the Yaya Extra family, we wish you all the best,” Ndaula said.
His message was widely shared among friends attending the ceremony, with many appreciating his thoughtful words despite his absence.

Social media was awash with congratulatory messages shortly after images from the ceremony emerged online.Among those celebrating the union was Princess Hellen Namutamba, who welcomed the legislator into married life. “Congratulations my brother, Hon.
