Kampala, Uganda –The name Muhammad Kamoga, a notorious land fraudster and property dealer, has once again surfaced in a fresh land fraud case, this time involving vocal radio personality Suuna Ben. The embattled dealer, formerly operating under the now-defunct Kamoga Properties Ltd, is accused of fraudulently registering a third party on a land title belonging to Suuna Ben, igniting yet another firestorm of controversy.
The case dates back to 2024, when Kamoga was entrusted with assisting Suuna Ben in transferring ownership of his land in Bukaya to his name. However, in an alleged act of deceit, Kamoga reportedly inserted another individual, Mary Nambwayo, onto the transfer form, falsely implying that Suuna Ben co-owns the Garuga-based property with her.
Suuna Ben, devastated by the betrayal, made his frustration known even at his mother’s funeral, where he tearfully accused Kamoga of fraudulent dealings. Addressing mourners, he pleaded with his deceased mother to report the matter to God, imploring divine intervention to expose and punish the fraudster.
“Mum, when you reach before the Lord, I request you to report Kamoga for fraudulently stealing my land by adding another name on my title. Tell God that I am suffering at the hands of this thief,”he lamented, drawing thunderous applause from mourners.
The radio presenter’s impassioned plea has since sparked widespread condemnation of Kamoga, particularly from the entertainment industry. Several prominent artists have vowed to stand with Suuna Ben until justice is served.
One such voice is that of musician Seguya, better known as Kayibanda, who minced no words in his warning to Kamoga.“You cannot defraud a man who spends sleepless nights playing music just to make a living. We will not allow this injustice to go unanswered,”he declared.
Renowned Kadongo Kamu singer Mathias Walukagga also weighed in, offering to compose a song exposing Kamoga’s fraudulent dealings should he fail to rectify the situation within a month.“We, the people of Masaka and supporters of Suuna Ben, give you one month to correct this mess. If not, I will compose a song about your scams, and unless you burn down all the studios, the truth will be told,”Walukagga warned.
This is not the first time Kamoga has been embroiled in a land fraud scandal. He is currently facing multiple criminal charges at the Entebbe Magistrates Court, where he stands accused of forging the signature of businessman Peter Bibangamba to fraudulently transfer ownership of 200 acres of prime land in Garuga. He has since been charged with eight counts of forgery, uttering false documents, and forceful eviction.
Kamoga Threatens Legal Action
In response to the allegations, Kamoga has vowed to take legal action against Suuna Ben for what he terms“slanderous claims.”According to the embattled property dealer, Suuna Ben has been making defamatory statements since July 2024, accusing him of colluding with his ex-girlfriend, Nambwayo, to fraudulently seize his property.
Kamoga claims that the accusations, made in multiple locations including Nansana, Kampala, Mbarara, and Masaka, have significantly damaged his business and `reputation!`Through his lawyers, he has issued a formal demand for a retraction and a public apology, giving Suuna Ben only hours to comply after receipt of the notice. As the legal battle looms, Ugandans await to see whether justice will prevail or if Kamoga will once again maneuver his way out of the mounting allegations against him.
