We can exclusively reveal that celebrated local events MC, TV show host Edwin Katamba aka MC Kats, will be assuming a new role at the Uganda Aids Commission next year. And this will force him into a television presenting sabbatical, we can exclusively reveal.
Mc Kats, who confessed to living with HIV sometime back, has been engaged in meetings with the UAC top executives to oversee a new department that will be dealing with youth, the entertainment sector and students to create awareness on how to protect themselves against contracting the disease.
The period of assuming his new role will coincide with the opening of schools next year when Mc Kats and his team will be traversing and holding on spot rendezvous with the youth.
According to our pry at UAC, Mc Kats has been a regular presence at plot 3 Salim Bey Road, which is the Commission’s base which will also house his new department.
This revelation now confirms the news that was making rounds in Kampala that Mc. Kats is slated to amicably end his association with NBS TV, where he has been co -hosting and presenting the After 5 and Katch Up shows.
MC Kats, 35 was born to Pastor Juliet Lubanga and Hajji Sula Lwanga of Mawanda Road, Kamwokya, Uganda. Currently, his mommy operates an orphanage as well as a church ministry in the United States.
The lanky free spirited young man, who in the past has had a brush with alcohol and drug dependence, has now rediscovered his life and purpose, thanks to the mentorship of his friend and spiritual god father pastor Wilson Bugembe.
