City Businessman Sudhir Ruparelia and impropriety are just like one and the same. Almost all the buildings Sudhir owns in Kampala and elsewhere in Uganda, each one of them almost have a question mark as to how he acquired the same. Currently, the businessman runs the risk of losing Simbamannyo building and Afrique Suites in Mutungo after it emerged that he reportedly ganged up with Equity Bank to dishonestly purchase the two in a deceitful auction.
Sudhir and the bank are sweating plasma after the courts insisted that they produce the email correspondences indicating the bad dealings which transpired between them ahead of sealing the impugned deals. Aware that the same would seal their fate, both the bank and Sudhir assert that they cannot do such a thing since it would amount to exposing their private dealings to all and sundry. This position, as if courts can merely look on as illegalities are being committed inside the walls of the banks.
Sudhir and the bank have since gone behind the trial Judge, Justice Stephen Mubiru and got an administrative letter taking the file from him. This is suspected to be a move to hand the same to a friendly Judge who would do as Sudhir and Equity desire. What is going on is further proof that Sudhir doesn’t want scrutiny. Since he also sponsored hackers who brought down this website one time for leaking what went on even before the courts could call for the emails which we had all exposed.
We labored to arrest the hackers who duly confessed in their police statements that Sudhir sponsored them to hack us at The Investigator, through his side-kick, Ussa Segawa. We properly tricked Segawa into arrest by using a woman he thought was interested in being laid only for the ignorant guy to walk straight into the trap and gotten netted. As we waited for justice to prevail, Sudhir and the DPP, the bald- headed Jane Frances Abodo, conspired and closed the file without the courtesy of telling us prior to doing so. Now if Abodo can antagonize people like us, just know that a lot of dirty games go on inside the office she presides over.
The story
Well, we are here to share how Sudhir could have obtained the Baumann House crookedly. For starters, Baumann is the last building on the Parliamentary Avenue before you can cross the road coming from the Jinja road upwards to the main Parliament building entrance. The house hosts the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs where President Museveni’s new Political spouse, Chairman Norbert Mao sits. The building formerly belonged to an Asian known as Somani.
Faced with money issues, Somani one time approached Sudhir for the necessary bailout. To his credit, Sudhir sorted out Somani with a total of one hundred thousand dollars. The borrower, in turn, pledged the building as collateral with Sudhir and left to go and settle his money issues using the funds Sudhir had issued to him. Trust the shrewd businessman. The debt jumped from USD100,000 to USD1M! In the lawsuit which he would file later after, Somani was now alleging how Sudhir had added another zero figure behind the real amount he had loaned him.
Just like that, Sudhir would end up demanding a total of USD1M from Somani which was a collosal figure more than two decades back. As would be expected, Somani failed to convince court that Sudhir was a crook. So, the poor fella ended up losing such a prized building over what is believed to have been a phony debt. After losing the building, a depressed Somani packed up and left the country. Sudhir has since been receiving huge rent from the building and counting as Somani continues to leak his wounds. Watch this space for more of how Sudhir owned which property.
