The sudden death of Timothy Magambo following a drowning incident has brought grief and shock to many who knew the young man and to countless Ugandans who have followed the news with sadness. Timothy, the son of Maj. Tom Magambo Rwabudongo, Director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), has been remembered as a cheerful and promising young man whose life ended far too soon.

I got to know the Magambo family when I coached Timothy’s younger brother in football here in Pelham NY USA. They are such a lovely family. Timothy was in my older son’s class at Pelham High School. This is terribly heartbreaking. He was such a nice kid. I hope all his relatives and friends in Uganda know that Timothy and his family are loved here.
