In a surprising turn of events, the meteoric rise of Ugandan rookie singer Patrick Mulwana, famously known as Alien Skin, has been marred by a fierce backstage battle involving veteran event organizer Abbey Musinguzi, popularly known as Abitex, and fellow musician Pius Mayanja, also known as Pallaso.
The controversy reached its climax recently when units of the National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters launched a scathing attack on Alien Skin, threatening to boycott his future shows and music due to alleged political affiliations. The drama began when Alien Skin found himself caught between Abitex and Pallaso over a performance fee dispute for the upcoming “Nkwacho” festival. Sources reveal that Alien Skin initially agreed to Abitex’s offer of UGX15M for the show, but upon consultation with his team, he reconsidered and requested a revision of the offer. This decision sent Abitex into a fit of rage, resulting in threats and a cancellation of the show.
As the situation escalated, Abitex allegedly took further measures, including patenting Alien Skin’s brand name ‘Fangone‘ to undermine the singer’s business prospects. Despite these attempts, Alien Skin stood firm and unfazed.
