LUWEERO, Uganda: The 92yr Mzee Canon Cranmer Diiro Kintu who recently dragged Minister without portfolio Hajji Abdul Nadduli to Court over intended grabbing of his 380 acre piece of land in Luweero is not tired yet.
The man of God has penned President Museveni a dossier, demanding for the First Citizen’s pronouncement of his said personal interest in the land situated in Kamira Sub County, Luweero District. Over the weekend in these pages was the story of how Mzee Cranmer sought court redress against Minister Nadduli, whom he insists is bent on grabbing his land.
“We are persuaded to believe the allegations because ours is just one of the many cases which have driven bitterness towards your Excellence’s person from the people of Luweero, all under the stewardship of your trusted senior cadre and veteran Hajji Abdul Nadduli. It would be good of the person of His Excellency to come out clean in this matter,” reads the letter dated October 26th 2019.
Signed by Cranmer’s sons Wasswa Noah Muleme Kintu, Kato John Kavuma and Timothy Ssenabulya, whom the Investigator has reliably learnt that their father trusted them with powers of administration of his estate, the dossier was successfully delivered to the President’s office but it’s yet to be acted upon. Below is the dossier in full…
CANON CRANMER DDIIRO KINTU
P.O BOX 35, LUWEERO
LUWEERO TOWN COUNCIL,
KIZITO ZONE
26TH October 2019
His Excellency the President of
The Republic of Uganda
KAMPALA
Dear His Excellency
RE: ATTEMPTS TO GRAB OUR 380 ACRES OF FAMILY LAND IN BLOCK 579, PLOT 1 AND BLOCK 579, PLOT TWO IN BUWANUKA VILLAGE, KAMIRA SUBCOUNTY IN LUWEERO DISTRICT WITH THE HELP OF MINISTER ADBUL NADDULI SUPPOSEDLY UNDER YOUR INSTRUCTIONS
“Reference is made to the above subject. We write to Your Excellency on behalf of our father Mzee Canon Cranmer Diiro Kintu who sends his regards and on whose instructions we attract your attention to the above subject where, his family land is on the verge of being grabbed by people being fronted by Hajji Abdul Nadduli, your Minister without Portfolio.
The brief facts
Our father bought Plot one from Mr. Sowedi Ndigetagala in 1964 and started on processing the Title which he obtained on May 11th 1 965. He also bought the adjacent Plot Two from Mr. Idd Nsubuga in 1970 and obtained the Title in 1971. Mr. Ndigetagala and Mr. Nsubuga are brothers and sons to the Late Yusuf Bakaayana from whom they got their share of land which they later sold to our Father. Copies of documents to this effect are attached for your ease of reference.
Our Father has lived on this land uninterruptedly with his family. His home, farm and close siblings’ homes are inhabited in the same land. He developed a farm on the land where he keeps over 600 heads of cattle on top of other developments. In the farm is piped water, two valley dams, cattle deeps, water pumps and other valuables used in cattle keeping.
To our utter shock and surprise, around March this year three people including Yahaya Ntanda, Khadijah Namubiru and Kassim Kikonyogo, all known to us as the Late Sowedi’s grandchildren, invaded the forest with a group of other four people armed with pangas, axes and a power sow. They went down and started to cut trees into timber. They were later stopped by the area Police Post OC who was alerted by our herdsmen in the field. With the OC’s intervention, a case of trespass and malicious damage was opened against the trio. The case went up to Court and still underway.
They kept away for some time until in August this year when they resurfaced with a huge group in three cars, this time accompanied by Minister Abdul Nadduli in guard of Luweero District Police Commander, a one Musakana. An impromptu meeting was organized and chaired by Hajji Nadduli. He declared that the land had disputes and that no one should settle there. He ordered out our guards sourced from Gideon Security Group and adjourned the meeting. In the process, he handed the land to his group and that’s when the disputes took a firm form.
We then went to Court for legal remedies. And with such efforts we obtained a Court Injunction against the intruders but the same has been ignored by the Police. Away from these impunities led by the Minister, it has been made known to all and sundry that Minister Nadduli has an invisible hand behind him. Mr. President it is strongly claimed that you have vested PERSONAL interest in some sections of land in Luweero, ours inclusive.
We are persuaded to believe the allegations because ours is just one of the many cases which have driven bitterness towards your Excellence’s person from the people of Luweero, all under the stewardship of your trusted senior cadre and veteran Hajji Abdul Nadduli. It would be good of the person of His Excellency to come out clean in this matter.
All our efforts have been suppressed because of these believable sentiments which we also think has encouraged the Police to ignore our cries and or take advantage of the same by being compromised. Accompanied are documents related to this matter. Any more information can be availed on request.”
