The royal birth, has brought joy to the royal family and the wider Busoga Kingdom, with the newborn prince arriving on a particularly significant day: his father’s birthday.
In a remarkable coincidence, the Kyabazinga and his newborn son share November 1 as their birthday, making the occasion doubly significant for the royal household and subjects of the kingdom.
In an announcement celebrating the arrival, the Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of their son, confirming that both the mother and the newborn were in excellent health.
“With immense joy and gratitude to Almighty God, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi, the Inhebantu of Busoga, proudly announce the birth of their third son, Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah, who was born on 1st November 2026,” the royal announcement reads.
The statemThe Kingdom of Busoga has welcomed a new royal heir following the birth of Prince ent described the shared birthday as a special coincidence that had made the occasion even more memorable for the royal family.
“In a special and remarkable coincidence, the young Prince shares his birthday with His Majesty, making this occasion even more memorable for the Royal Family and the Kingdom of Busoga,” the announcement adds.
The birth has also provided another moment of celebration for the people of Busoga, whose cultural institution continues to occupy an important place in the social and cultural identity of eastern Uganda.
The announcement was made public through the Kyabazinga’s official communication channels, with the royal family extending appreciation to the people of Busoga, relatives, friends and well-wishers for their prayers and support.
“The Royal Family extends heartfelt appreciation to the people of Busoga, family, friends and well-wishers for their prayers, love and goodwill during this joyous occasion,” the statement reads.
The royal household also anchored the announcement in a biblical message of thanksgiving, quoting Psalm 127:3: “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.”
The religious reference reflects the family’s gratitude for the safe arrival of the prince and the health of the Inhebantu following childbirth. The announcement did not, however, disclose the place where the prince was born.

A growing royal family
Prince Ezra Josiah joins his elder brothers, Prince William Ethan Nadiope and Prince Arnold Eli Nadiope, the twin sons of the Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu, who were born on August 27, 2025.
The twins’ arrival was also celebrated as a significant moment for the royal family, attracting congratulatory messages from cultural leaders, political figures and members of the public.
Their birth had been received with excitement across Busoga, with the royal household describing the development as a source of profound joy and gratitude.
Just over a year later, the arrival of Prince Ezra Josiah brings the number of publicly announced children of the Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu to three, all boys.
The latest development marks another milestone in the family life of the Kyabazinga, who ascended to the Busoga throne in 2014 following the death of his predecessor, Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki.
Since his enthronement, William Gabula Nadiope IV has continued to serve as the cultural leader of Busoga, a kingdom whose history, traditions and institution remain deeply rooted in the identity of its constituent chiefdoms and communities.
His marriage to Jovia Mutesi, who became the Inhebantu of Busoga, was another landmark occasion in the kingdom’s recent history.
The couple’s union attracted considerable public attention, with the Inhebantu assuming an important cultural position alongside the Kyabazinga.
As the royal family grows, the arrival of the third prince adds to the next generation of the Nadiope royal household.

A birthday with double celebrations
Perhaps the most striking feature of the latest royal announcement is the coincidence that Prince Ezra Josiah was born on the same day as his father.
For the Kyabazinga, November 1 will now carry an additional family significance, marking not only his birthday but also the birth anniversary of his third son.
The shared birthday creates a special bond between father and son and gives the royal family another reason to celebrate the date each year.
For the people of Busoga, the announcement has provided an opportunity to celebrate their cultural leader’s birthday alongside the arrival of a new member of the royal household.
The development also comes at a time when cultural institutions continue to play an important role in preserving Uganda’s traditional heritage, promoting unity and connecting younger generations to their cultural roots.
In Busoga, the Kyabazinga remains a central symbol of the kingdom’s cultural identity, while the Inhebantu represents an equally significant institution within the royal establishment.
The arrival of Prince Ezra Josiah is therefore not simply a family milestone but also an occasion of public interest among the kingdom’s subjects and supporters. The royal family concluded its announcement by thanking everyone who shared in the celebrations and supported the Inhebantu throughout the period.
“Busoga Okwisania N’Amanhi,” the statement concluded, reaffirming the kingdom’s enduring message of unity and togetherness.
With Prince Ezra Josiah’s arrival, the Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu begin another chapter in their family journey, while November 1 acquires a special place in the royal calendar as the birthday shared by the reigning Kyabazinga and his youngest son.
