It’s not that every time you start a campaign, you come out victors. So, to that effect, Micho’s campaign and attempts to call Mubiru, a London born and based striker have come out unsuccessful. Sorry! But for a man, in fact a sportsman that Micho is, we don’t have to feel sorry. He verily knows that in sports, one win some and lose some.
That known, and running out of time and patience, Micho’s latest team-list confirms Our ‘No Thank Your Sir’ Story, which rane in these lines under the title; “No Thank You Sir! London born-based Striker Karl Anthony Mubiru Rubbishes Micho, says he can’t play under Average Coaches”
The latest from Uganda Cranes Camp is that head coach Mulitun ‘Micho’ Sredojevic on Sunday 22nd May named his preliminary squad with which he will deploy for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Hoped to be on the list, but now missing on the team of 33 players to start preparations for the Qualifiers, is London born and based striker, supposedly Ugandan whose real parents are, mother, Ugandan and father, Nigerian.
This footie much billed and hoped to feature for Uganda Cranes Karl Anthony Uche Chukwu Mubiru Ikpeazu hesitated to respond to Micho’s call attempts tagging the Serbian as average and not his type of coach. In our story published on these pages on April 27th, the Player rubbishes Micho, saying he can’t play under Average Coaches.
Our story therefore was to counsel Micho to avoid putting himself under mammoth pressure lest he not enjoy his meals. That pressure we warned him against is, calling on the player whom, we ably foretold he could not heed to but to work with other players a bunch of them playing in professional leagues than that of Uganda.
Thank you, Micho, for taking our wise counsel and naming a team loyal to you. This will surely do not disorganize your qualification endeavors and the country is hopeful of qualification for the AFCON this time around. Uganda will open their campaign with an away fixture against Algeria on 4th June in Oran followed by a home game four days later (8th June) with Niger at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
According to FUFA technical team, the players called have been booked in for camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi on Monday 23rd May 2022 at 8am. The training programme start 10am using the Fast Fusion Indoor Facility and Gym.
