Women will always send nudes, and that’s quite okay. There is just something about receiving a sexy picture from a girl that inspires a fascination, unlike nudes from men ever have, or ever will. There’s a drawing effect women have that makes the world stand still that men simply lack. Time has shown nudes have always been around. But it wasn’t until the mass leak of nudes exposing celebrities that the conversation became relevant again.
To be clear, there is a distinct difference for someone targeting your personal pictures, according to news, and it is how the celebrity nudes were leaked, and voluntarily shared. However, the process has confirmed a fact that, I feel, leakages or not, it will stand the test of time. Women will always send nudes, and that’s quite okay.
TRUST
The first reason why we will always send nude pictures has to do with trust. Why should we be concerned about how they look or the content of the material when we trust the person we are with? There are women who never, in million years, thought they would send nudes and ended up sending them to their boyfriends. I’m also willing to bet, the ones who didn’t send them, had their boyfriends personally take them, instead. Women will always feel comfortable trusting you. The trust factor also applies to our precious gadgets. We often place a false sense of reliability on the shoulder of apps and devices such as snapchat, WhatsApp, facetime and others. These gadgets, in most cases, have a way of storing images with the popularity of screen shots. In the moment, the thought of pictures leaking or breaking up never seem to come to our mind. The risk involved in sending and sharing intimacies is one that, a lot of time, we don’t consider until it’s too late.
INCENTIVES
Nudes are incentive for guys. It’s the doggy treat they will jump heights and wag their tails for. It brings them pride to receive them, and they are a treasure to keep. Naughty photos remind them of what’s at home; they could also entice the decision to settle into one. Oftentimes, receiving and giving naked pics are just another element to an intimate relationship. Along with other adventures, nudes are something thrown in to keep the relationship spicy, which works for both parties in maintaining a healthy relationship.
EMPOWERMENT
Another reason why nudes will live on is because women love sending them. We are just as sexual as men, if not more, sending sultry photos is something we are more than willing to do. We are advancing more and more into a society that encourages a woman to be more comfortable in the skin we are in. As a result, we are doing just that. Women with self-confidence feel like nudes are a way of owning our bodies and sexuality.
Being free is being able to share it with our significant other person, not only because the men appreciate it, but because we appreciate our bodies, as well. A lot of times, men don’t even have to ask. You might be surprised how many women send pictures to show they are thinking about their men, or just because. Gone are the times when women were condemned for showing inner skin. It’s becoming common for women to feel more confident in their bodies. Many may urge that if someone is ashamed for people to know about it, maybe she shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. Let me be clear; this is a ridiculous notion that the activities that take place in the privacy of our lives should hold in the light of the public eye, is a theory that sounds better than it works.
Privacy, especially the privacy between two individuals, deserves a level of sanctity that, if not protected, should offend us. I think women who send pictures of themselves understand this and, therefore, are not ashamed to snap photos. Nudes will always be a staple of communication between men and women, and the mass leak of celebrity nudes proves it. For guys, this is good news. For women, it means knowing you have the power and knowing to be wise when you use it. Happy Easter to all my Readers.
