A top investigative scribe at the Industrial Area based Vision Group has been shamed as a callous man after he allegedly conned a city girl into sex, infected her with strange STDs and later abandoned her together with the baby that resulted from the purported tango.
After living with such nightmare for over a year now, Annet Katushabe a resident of Kireka who hails from Rubaare in Ntungamo, has now decided to let the lid off the whole thing. She names CHARLES ETUKURI who has dug up numerous scandals through investigative journalism as the one who tormented her.
“I have endured this heartache for long. I am opening up at long last in order to let the world know what I have been going through and continue to go through as well,” states Annet who claims to be 27 years old, amidst sobs.
But one thing that appears to sicken Annet more is the fact that whereas Etukuri allegedly forced her into sex and even made her pregnant in the process, the scribe has since thrown her out of their home and replaced her with a relative she had invited to stay with them. That aside, he has since refused to provide any form of child support to her.
“I would have stomached the insult if Etukuri was not working and making good money for that. But for a man of means as Etukuri to abandon his child and moreover to an unemployed woman is the least the mother of all insults imaginable to say the least,” she moans.
But Annet is not about to let Etukuri neglect his fatherly obligations towards the kid he sired with her. We know of how she filed a child neglect case as recently as October 22 against the crime investigative journalist. She filed the case at Bweyogerere police post. The case is recorded as SD33/22/10/2018. A detective at the station has assured this website that the lanky scribe will be summoned soon to write a statement.
Much as she has duly filed the case, her fears is that police might sit on it under the influence of the suspect ‘because he has many friends in the force.’ She is therefore asking human rights defenders to help keep pressure on the suspect to do what he is supposed to do as dad or make sure that he appears in court to pay for his crime.
While she used to work at a juice factory in Kireka along Jinja road, Annet tells of how she has since meeting Etukuri lost her job and that she is currently living at the mercy of her friend in Kirinnya- Bweyogerere. “I am under the care of my friend in Bweyogerere currently, so much for a woman who used to work and fend for myself,” she agonizes.
Genesis
It is alleged that Etukuri got Annet at Kireka trading center sometime in 2016. The scribe was driving with a friend when he cited the belle that left him soft in the knees. He braked.
“He asked to offer me a lift. I obliged,” claims the lady. She then tells how Etukuri ended up taking her to his house where he allegedly conned her into sex by confessing untold love for her and how he was even dying to have her for a wife.
After spending some weeks at Etukuri’s place, the lady claims how her sister paid her a visit. And that during her stay, Etukuri managed to con the visiting sister before laying her. On learning about the love affair, Annet lost her cool. She confronted Etukuri who instead told her to pack up and leave.
Days after leaving she discovered that she was pregnant. “I informed Etukuri who denied responsibility for the pregnancy,” she explains. She would later, through a clinical test, learnt that is she had a serious STD as well. To make matters worse, she adds, Etukuri has since denied parentage of the kid condemning her to a single parent. Efforts to reach Etukuri were futile as he never picked our calls.
